Three Electrical Services Divisions
Builders Electric’s Commercial Division is a trusted electrical contractor in South Dakota, committed to quality and innovation since 2006. Their team consists of experienced, specialized electricians who use state-of-the-art equipment.
The Builders Electric Street Division specializes in electrical work for road-based projects, ranging from major intersections to rural highways. The dedicated street team is made up of specialist electricians who are trained for the intricacies of street jobs.
The Builders Utility (Underground Division) specializes in underground utility installation using minimally invasive techniques and highly trained specialists. They are experts in safely burying conduits and lines at various worksites.
Humble Beginnings
The Builders Electric Story
In the early days, Talis was the company’s only electrician. He worked primarily on residential projects. During the summer months, the business became a family affair. His sons helped him out and he taught them the skills of the trade along the way.
Later, the operation expanded into commercial, street, and digging projects for organizations like CenturyLink and the City of Sioux Falls.
When the opportunity arose to install high-speed fiber internet and node boxes throughout rural areas, Builders Electric was ready. Our crews connected residents throughout the southeast South Dakota region and beyond with each other—and the future of telecommunication.
This visionary move expanded the company’s work footprint into Nebraska, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin.
After installing countless miles of fiber and thousands of node boxes, we expanded further, adding directional drilling and vibratory plowing to our utility services in 2016.
